Dotdash’s commission was based on a 2 year program that included development of the wayfinding strategy, graphics and site applications in collaboration with Lahz Nimmo Architects as structure designers. Dotdash also developed the Look of the Games, that is, the development of the brand elements inside and outside venues that help to make the Sydney 2000 experience a memorable one.
Sydney 2000 became a milestone in Olympic Games with subsequent Games Organising Committees intent on bettering the record.
Based on the lessons learnt and relationships formed, Dotdash has continued to contribute to major sporting events in Australia and overseas. These have included:
- Goodwill Games Brisbane 2001.
- Athens 2004 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
- Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.
- 12th FINA World Championships Melbourne 2007.
- Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (with Looksport).
- London 2012 Olympic games and Paralympic Games.
- Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
The recent Olympic Games have been smaller intense commissions involving workshops, strategy design and advice passing on knowledge and skills to assist in the planning and delivery of the Games overlays.
